There are three things the following quotes have in common:

 

Frank Sinatra declared HIMSELF as “a thing of beauty.”

 

Justin Timberlake said, “The Grammys used ME for ratings. And they were up 18 percent!”

 

Finally, Kanye West declared, “I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, and...my greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live.”

Student Witness for Welcoem Weekend 2010

Everything in moderation. Those were the parting words my dad said to me on this very day exactly three years ago. I didn’t quite understand what he meant as him and my mom were walking back to the car together, letting the last of their seven children to walk up to my dorm room, and start my new life in college. And honestly, I kind of let the phrase go in one ear and pass out the other.

Student Witness for Welcome Weekend 2009

This reflection was given by David Martin, our Butler Catholic Community President at the Welcome Week Mass on August 23rd,2009. A video recording may be found on the Butler Catholic Community facebook page.

In today’s Gospel, we will hear the familiar story of Jesus’ parents finding Him in the Temple, listening to and talking with the teachers. What is not reflected in Luke’s gospel is the fear and anxiety that must have struck Mary and Joseph upon discovering their twelve year old son missing. Many parents have experienced this terror when, upon turning around in the grocery store, at the fair, or in a park, discover their child has disappeared. More often than not the child is just around the corner oblivious to the panic he or she has instilled in the parent. I remember one particular event that occurred in my life
